Best Home Loan Agents and Platforms in Chennai 2026: Agencies, DSAs and Lenders

Home buyers in Chennai comparing loan platforms in 2026 can start with Ambak, BankBazaar, NoBroker, Urban Money and Andromeda. Ambak is a home loan marketplace with a Chennai page and an office in Nungambakkam. BankBazaar is headquartered in the city. Repco Home Finance, a Chennai-based lender, and Can Fin Homes are covered in the lender section further down.

Disclosure: This list is published by Ambak. Ambak is our own platform, so it is listed first. The other platforms are not ranked against each other. Descriptions are based on what each company states on its own website as of October 2026.

People who search for a home loan agent or a home loan agency in Chennai are looking for an intermediary that arranges a loan from a bank or housing finance company for them. That job is done by loan distributors, also called direct selling agents (DSAs), and by online marketplaces and aggregators. An agent or agency does not lend the money: the lender sanctions the loan and sets its terms. The companies below are the organised form of that service.

Home Loan Agents and Platforms in Chennai: What Each One Does

1. Ambak

Ambak calls itself a fintech marketplace for home loans. In Chennai it has a Home Loan in Chennai page, and its contact page lists an office at Workafella Business Centre, Nungambakkam.

What a borrower gets, going by the site: offers from a panel of banks and housing finance companies in one place, a dedicated advisor, and online tracking. The ambak.com home page states 75+ lending partners and says the same advisor handles the case from the first document to disbursal. Documents are checked online, and the site says credit analysts review the profile free of charge. The application tracker shows each step and sends WhatsApp and email alerts.

Ambak states that it is free for borrowers. Fees charged by the lender are separate. The home page also states Rs 10,000 Cr+ in loans disbursed, 15,000+ families and 12 cities.

The product range covers a new home loan, balance transfer, top up, plot loan, home construction loan, NRI home loan, home repair loan and loan against property. Tools on the site include an EMI calculator and a tax saving calculator. Ambak says it raised $7 million in a round led by Peak XV Partners' Surge (post dated 29 January 2025). The site header displays an official partner badge of the Delhi Development Authority.

2. BankBazaar

Home loans remain on the site as a compare-and-apply page with a home loan calculator and pages on eligibility, transfers and PMAY. BankBazaar says its services are free and that it supports customers from application to disbursal. It gives no lender partner count, and its home loan page notes that displaying a brand does not imply a partnership with that brand.

3. NoBroker

NoBroker describes itself as a brokerage-free platform for buying, selling and renting homes. Its home loan service sits beside the property listings. According to the home loan page, a borrower can compare 15+ banking partners, complete the process in three steps and work with a dedicated field relationship manager who comes to the doorstep. NoBroker says the service is free of cost and has zero hidden fees, and it provides EMI and eligibility calculators. The city list on its loan form was only partly visible to us, so check that Chennai is offered.

4. Urban Money

Urban Money presents itself as an unbiased loan advisor covering all types of lending. It is part of the Square Yards group, has its office in Gurugram and says it has operated since 2014. The company states that it offers products from over 95 banks and NBFCs. Its about page also gives 1,50,000 channel partners and Rs 40,000 Cr+ in annual transaction value, both undated. For a home loan it says it assists with product choice, paperwork, legal and insurance consulting and disbursal. Its home loan page includes a Chennai link among 30+ cities.

5. Andromeda

Andromeda is a loan distribution company registered as Andromeda Sales & Distribution Private Limited, with its head office in Mumbai. Only the last row lends money. Every other type is an intermediary between you and a bank or housing finance company. The intermediary can help you compare, gather documents and chase the file, but the lender decides whether to sanction the loan and on what terms.

Chennai has both kinds close at hand: a lender headquartered in the city and several platforms that route applications to many lenders. Using one does not rule out the other. A quote taken directly from a lender is a useful check against the offers a platform brings.

How to Choose a Home Loan Platform in Chennai

  • Start with the property. The Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TNRERA) is the state authority. Under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, a project that requires registration cannot be advertised or sold by the promoter until it is registered with the authority. Look up the project before you apply for a loan against it.
  • Count the lenders on the panel. Stated panel sizes on this page range from 15+ to 200+, and one platform gives no figure. Ask which of those lenders actually lend in your part of Chennai.
  • Get the Key Facts Statement for each offer. RBI requires regulated lenders, housing finance companies included, to hand prospective borrowers of retail term loans a Key Facts Statement before the loan contract is executed. It states the annual percentage rate, meaning the yearly cost of credit including interest and all other charges.
  • Refuse unlisted fees. The same circular says charges not mentioned in the Key Facts Statement cannot be levied during the loan without the borrower's explicit consent.
  • Check prepayment freedom. RBI's pre-payment directions say banks and NBFCs shall not levy pre-payment charges on floating rate loans to individuals for non-business purposes, for loans sanctioned or renewed on or after 1 January 2026.
  • Ask about the agent's code of conduct. RBI's outsourcing guidelines expect lenders to have a code of conduct for direct sales agents and hold the lender responsible for the agent's actions.
  • Confirm who will handle your file. Ask whether you get one named contact and how you will be told about progress.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are the home loan agents in Chennai?

Home loan agents in Chennai are of three kinds: individual direct selling agents (DSAs) attached to one bank, loan distribution agencies such as Andromeda and Urban Money, and online marketplaces such as Ambak. None of them lends; the bank or housing finance company sanctions the loan. The RBI holds a bank responsible for the conduct of the agents it uses.

Does a home loan agent or agency charge the borrower?

It depends on the agent, so ask before sharing documents. Ambak states on its website that its service is free for borrowers. Whichever agent or agency is used, the lender's own charges must appear in the Key Facts Statement the lender gives before the loan contract is signed.

Is Ambak available in Chennai?

Ambak has a Home Loan in Chennai page on ambak.com and lists an office at Workafella Business Centre, Nungambakkam, on its contact page. A borrower can check offers online and speak to an advisor on WhatsApp or by phone, according to the site.

What is the best platform to compare home loans in Chennai?

No platform is best for everyone. Ambak comes first on this page because Ambak publishes it; it states 75+ lending partners. BankBazaar offers an online comparison page. NoBroker links loans to property search. Urban Money and Andromeda use advisor networks. Choose by the lenders each one can reach and how you want to be served.

Do I pay anything to a home loan platform?

Ambak states it is free for borrowers. BankBazaar says all its services are free of cost, and NoBroker says its home loan service is free with zero hidden fees. Ask any platform to confirm this in writing. What the lender charges is listed in its Key Facts Statement.

Is it better to go to Repco Home Finance or Can Fin Homes directly?

Going direct works if you already know which lender you want. Repco Home Finance is headquartered in Chennai and Can Fin Homes states 270 branches nationally. A platform is useful when you want to see how several lenders respond to the same profile before choosing one.

Can I track my home loan application online?

With Ambak, yes. Its application tracker lets a borrower sign in with the registered mobile number, see completed, ongoing and upcoming steps, and receive WhatsApp and email notifications up to disbursal. Andromeda mentions mobile tracking on its page for partner agents. For other platforms, ask what tracking they provide.
