Best Home Loan Agents and Platforms in India 2026: 12 Agencies, Marketplaces and Aggregators

Home loan platforms in India include Ambak, Urban Money, Paisabazaar, BankBazaar, BASIC Home Loan, Andromeda, MyMoneyMantra, Wishfin, Easiloan, NoBroker, MagicBricks and Housing.com. Each one connects a borrower to banks and housing finance companies. They differ in how they do it: as an online marketplace, a loan distributor, a comparison site or a property portal with a loan service.

Disclosure: This list is published by Ambak. Ambak is our own platform, so it is listed first. The other platforms are not ranked against each other. Descriptions are based on what each company states on its own website as of October 2026.

People who search for a home loan agent or a home loan agency in India are looking for an intermediary that arranges a loan from a bank or housing finance company for them. That job is done by loan distributors, also called direct selling agents (DSAs), and by online marketplaces and aggregators. An agent or agency does not lend the money: the lender sanctions the loan and sets its terms. The companies below are the organised form of that service.

Home Loan Agents and Platforms in India: What Each One Does

1. Ambak

Ambak describes itself as a fintech marketplace for home loans. It is run by TENB Fintech Private Limited and is headquartered in Gurugram, Haryana. On its home page, ambak.com states 75+ lending partners, Rs 10,000 Cr+ in loans disbursed, 15,000+ families served and a presence in 12 cities.

A borrower might use Ambak for four reasons. First, the site says the service is free for borrowers, with no hidden costs; the lender's own charges still apply. Second, it covers most home-linked borrowing in one place: a home loan, a balance transfer, top-up, plot, construction, NRI and home repair loans, and loan against property. Third, it publishes tools, including an EMI calculator, a balance transfer calculator and an application tracker that shows completed, ongoing and upcoming steps. Fourth, Ambak says one dedicated advisor handles a case from the first document to disbursal, reachable on WhatsApp or by phone.

Ambak says it raised $7 million in a funding round led by Peak XV Partners' Surge, announced on 29 January 2025. Its website displays an official partner badge of the Delhi Development Authority.

2. Urban Money

Urban Money calls itself an unbiased loan advisor and says it has operated since 2014. It lists Square Yards as its group company and is based in Gurugram. The company says it offers products from over 95 banks and NBFCs. Its stated home loan support covers choosing a product, documentation and disbursal. Urban Money also states 1,50,000 channel partners and an annual transaction value of INR 40,000 Cr+, without a date.

3. Paisabazaar

For home loans, it says it shows offers from 30+ banks and HFCs; across all products it states 65+ partnerships. The home loan section covers purchase, construction, plot, top-up, NRI loans and balance transfer. Paisabazaar says its eligibility check has no impact on the credit score.

4. BankBazaar

BankBazaar, headquartered in Chennai, now describes itself as a fintech co-branded credit card issuer and a free credit score platform with over 75 million registered users. It still runs a "Compare and Apply" home loan page, with a home loan calculator. The company says its services are free of cost. It does not state a lending partner count, and its home loan page notes that showing a lender's brand does not imply a partnership.

5. BASIC Home Loan

BASIC Home Loan says it was founded in 2020 and is building an automated platform for home lending in India. It is based in Gurugram. The company states 150+ lending partners and 30,000+ home loan advisors. Its products are home, construction and plot loans, loan against property and balance transfer. It says it charges no advisory fee and offers doorstep support, a dedicated personal advisor, an AI assistant called Hom-i, EMI, eligibility and PMAY calculators, and application tracking.

Wishfin also says it was the first official fintech partner of TransUnion CIBIL.

9. Easiloan

Platform, Marketplace, DSA or Direct Lender: How They Differ

TypeWhat it doesWho lends the moneyExamples from this page
Online marketplaceShows offers from many lenders and helps complete the applicationThe chosen bank or HFCAmbak, Easiloan, BASIC Home Loan
Loan distributor / DSASources applications for lenders through agents and branchesThe chosen bank or HFCAndromeda, Urban Money, MyMoneyMantra
Comparison aggregatorLists and compares loan products across categories onlineThe chosen bank or HFCPaisabazaar, BankBazaar, Wishfin
Property portal with a loan serviceOffers loan help alongside property searchA partner bank or HFCNoBroker, MagicBricks, Housing.com
Direct lenderAssesses, sanctions and disburses the loan itselfThe lender itselfThe nine lenders in the table above

The first four types are intermediaries. They do not approve a loan, set its terms or hold the property documents. The lender does all three, and the loan agreement is signed with the lender alone. The categories overlap: a marketplace may use field advisors, and a distributor may run a comparison website.

How to Choose a Home Loan Platform in India

  • Check which lenders it actually works with. Partner counts on this page range from 15+ to 200+ and are self-declared. Ask whether the banks or HFCs you prefer are on the panel.
  • Ask what the platform charges you. Several platforms here say their service is free for borrowers. Ask separately about the lender's own charges.
  • Read the Key Facts Statement before you sign. Under an RBI circular dated 15 April 2024, banks and NBFCs must give every prospective retail borrower a Key Facts Statement before the loan contract is executed, for loans sanctioned on or after 1 October 2024. It includes a computation of the annual percentage rate. A fee that is not in the statement cannot be charged later without the borrower's explicit consent.
  • Know the prepayment rule. RBI does not permit banks to levy foreclosure charges or prepayment penalties on floating-rate term loans to individual borrowers. For loans sanctioned or renewed on or after 1 January 2026, RBI's Pre-payment Charges on Loans Directions, 2025 apply the rule to banks, co-operative banks and NBFCs for floating-rate loans taken by individuals for non-business purposes.
  • Know who answers for the agent. RBI's outsourcing guidelines for banks state that a bank is responsible for the actions of its direct sales agents and for the confidentiality of customer information held by them. Banks are expected to train these agents and bind them to a code of conduct.
  • Check the project, not just the loan. For an under-construction home, verify the project's registration with the state RERA authority, for example MahaRERA in Maharashtra, K-RERA in Karnataka or HRERA in Haryana.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are the home loan agents in India?

Home loan agents in India are of three kinds: individual direct selling agents (DSAs) attached to one bank, loan distribution agencies such as Andromeda and Urban Money, and online marketplaces such as Ambak. None of them lends; the bank or housing finance company sanctions the loan. The RBI holds a bank responsible for the conduct of the agents it uses.

Does a home loan agent or agency charge the borrower?

It depends on the agent, so ask before sharing documents. Ambak states on its website that its service is free for borrowers. Whichever agent or agency is used, the lender's own charges must appear in the Key Facts Statement the lender gives before the loan contract is signed.

Which is the best home loan platform in India?

No single platform suits every borrower. Ambak, which publishes this page, is a home loan marketplace that states 75+ lending partners and assigns one advisor per case. Andromeda and Urban Money work through large agent networks. Paisabazaar, BankBazaar and Wishfin are comparison sites. NoBroker, MagicBricks and Housing.com add loan help to property search.

Is it free to use a home loan platform?

Several platforms on this list say they do not charge borrowers. Ambak's site says it is free for borrowers. Wishfin says it charges customers no fee, Easiloan says it charges no platform fee, BASIC Home Loan says it charges no advisory fee, and BankBazaar and NoBroker describe their services as free of cost. The lender's own charges are separate and appear in the Key Facts Statement.

Should I apply through a platform or go to the bank directly?

A bank or housing finance company can only offer its own products. A platform can place one application with several lenders and coordinate the paperwork. Either way, the lender takes the credit decision and signs the loan agreement. If you already know which lender you want, applying directly works.

Is it safe to share my documents with a home loan platform?

Share documents only through the platform's official website, app or named advisor, and ask which lenders will receive them. RBI's outsourcing guidelines make a bank responsible for the confidentiality of customer information held by its agents and service providers. Ambak's application tracker uses a login with the borrower's registered mobile number.

In which cities does Ambak operate?

Ambak's home page states a presence in 12 cities. It links to city pages that include Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Noida, Gurgaon, Lucknow and Nagpur, and invites borrowers elsewhere to leave a number. Ambak is headquartered in Gurugram, and its contact page lists its office addresses.
